Company honors top drivers who achieve 3 million consecutive safe miles and/or 20 years of safe driving
GREEN BAY, Wis. (July 15, 2015) – A Hall of Fame is a tribute to the greatness of a particular group of people, from football champions to space explorers to rock and roll stars. Schneider, one of the nation’s largest truckload carriers, decided to follow suit last year with the unveiling of the Haul of Fame, a meaningful and visible way to honor legends in the trucking industry. This year, Schneider is proud to add 13 new inductees to the 179 elite drivers already immortalized in the Haul of the Fame.
This exclusive honor recognizes drivers who have accumulated three million consecutive safe driving miles and/or 20 consecutive years of safe driving without an accident or safety infraction. The names and driving accomplishments of every Haul of Fame inductee are acknowledged on plaques that line a prominent wall within the company’s corporate headquarters in Green Bay, Wis. In addition, each Haul of Fame driver receives a duplicate copy of the plaque that bears their name and safe driving feats.
"Because of the high standard of criteria for inclusion, joining the Haul of Fame is a true triumph," said Todd Jadin, vice president with Schneider. "To have 13 drivers eligible for such an honor shows how truly and sincerely committed our drivers are to upholding our number-one core value of Safety First and Always."
The industry standard for safe miles is one million, so Schneider’s benchmark of three million consecutive safe driving miles literally goes the extra mile – two million extra, in fact. This new group of inductees has collectively logged over 28 million safe miles and 190 years of consecutive safe driving. Their names are as follows:
- Edward Apperson
- Gary Brockner
- Timothy Clark
- Terry Diller
- Curt Fields
- David Fields
- Duane Fields
- William Gaefcke
- Gerald Hicks
- Bernard Johnson
- Ralph Johnson
- Richard Wyant III
- Jerry Yetsko
