("we" or "us") uses, discloses, and processes the personal information of California consumers, employees, job applicants, and candidates ("you" and "your") within the scope of the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and related regulations (collectively, the "CCPA"). This California Privacy Policy supplements the information contained in our general Privacy Policy and applies only to consumers, employees, job applicants, and candidates residing in California. Your continued use of our website and/or apps means that you accept the terms of our general Privacy Policy and this California Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to change this California Privacy Policy at any time. If we change our California Privacy Policy, we will post an updated version on this website. 1. Information We Collect, Sell, Share, and Disclose and the Purpose for It
A. Personal Information We Collect About You and Its Business Purpose
The term "personal information" as used in this California Privacy Policy means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer, household, employee, applicant, or candidate. "Personal information" does not include: (i) publicly available information or lawfully obtained, truthful information that is a matter of public concern; or (ii) any publicly available information or information that is deidentified or aggregate consumer information.
We also collect "sensitive personal information", which is a subset of personal information. The CCPA defines sensitive personal information as personal information that reveals information such as: (a) social security, driver's license, state identification card, or passport number; (b) account log-in, financial account, debit card, or credit card number in combination with any required security or access code, password, or credentials allowing access to an account; (c) precise geolocation; (d) racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, or union membership; (e) the contents of a consumer's mail, email, and text messages unless we are the intended recipient of the communication; and (f) genetic data. The CCPA includes in the definition of sensitive personal information the processing of biometric information for the purpose of uniquely identifying a consumer, personal information collected and analyzed concerning a consumer's health and personal information collected and analyzed concerning a consumer's sex life or sexual orientation. Sensitive personal information that is publicly available is not considered sensitive personal information or personal information.
We collect personal information about California consumers, employees, applicants, and candidates for a variety of business reasons as indicated in the chart below. Please note the specific pieces of personal information we may collect about you can vary depending on the nature of your interactions with us. In other words, we may not collect all personal information referenced below as it relates to you.

Cookies are small text files that store information on a computer or mobile device, and enable websites like ours to capture and remember information about you. We use cookies and other similar technologies to save your website preferences for future visits, allow you to login automatically, and to compile data about your interactions with our website so that we can offer better website experiences and tools in the future.
B. EMPLOYEES AND APPLICANTS ONLY: Purposes For Which We Collect Your Personal Information
In addition to the above-identified reasons that we may collect and/or use the personal information of employees and applicants, we may also collect and/or use the above Personal Information to operate and manage our business, including managing our workforce. For example, if you are an employee or applicant, we may use your personal information to:
- Manage workforce activities and personnel generally, including for recruitment, performance management, career development, payments administration, employee training, leaves and promotions;
- Manage wages and other awards such as stock options, stock grants and bonuses, and provide healthcare, pensions, savings plans and other benefits;
- Maintain and secure our facilities, equipment, systems, and infrastructure;
- Undertake quality and safety assurance measures, protect the health and safety of our workforce and others, and conduct risk and security control and monitoring;
- Conduct research, analytics, and data analysis to assist in planning succession and to ensure business continuity, as well as to design employee retention programs and diversity initiatives
- Perform identity verification, accounting, audit, and other internal functions, such as internal investigations;
- Operate and manage IT and communications systems and facilities, allocate our assets and human resources, and undertake strategic planning and project management;
- Comply with law, legal process, internal policies and other requirements such as income tax deductions, record-keeping and reporting obligations, and exercise and defend legal claims.
- To recruit employees, including to conduct employment-related background screening and checks;
- To conduct performance-related reviews, including performance appraisals, career planning, skills monitoring, job moves, promotions and staff re-structuring;
- To monitor work-related licenses and credentials, including provisioning software licenses for use in the course of an employee's work-related responsibilities, ensuring compliance, training, examination and other requirements are met with applicable regulatory bodies;
- To provide our employees with human resources management services, including providing employee data maintenance and support services, administration of separation of employment, approvals and authorization procedures, administration and handling of employee claims, and travel administration:
- To administer international assignments, including relocation services, documenting assignment terms and conditions, obtaining relevant immigration documents, initiating vendor services, fulfilling home/host country tax administration and filing obligations, and addressing health requirements;
- To monitor eligibility to work in the U.S., which means monitoring and ensuring compliance with legal requirements to establish ability to work in the U.S.;
- To conduct healthcare-related services, including conducting pre-employment and employment-related medical screenings for return-to-work processes and medical case management needs; determining medical suitability for particular tasks; identifying health needs of employees to plan and provide appropriate services, including operation of sickness policies and procedures; and providing guidance on fitness for travel and fitness for expatriation;
- To facilitate a better working environment, which includes conducting staff surveys, providing senior management information about other employees, and conducting training;
- To monitor, investigate and enforce compliance with potential breaches of our policies and procedures and legal and regulatory requirements;
- To ensure a safe and efficient work environment, which includes our actions relating to disciplinary actions, and code of conduct processes and investigations
- To maintain security on our websites and Internet connected assets, which includes hosting and maintenance of computer systems and infrastructure; management of our software and hardware computer assets; systems testing, such as development of new systems and end-user testing of computer systems; training; and monitoring email and Internet access;
- To comply with applicable law or regulatory requirements, such as legal (state and federal) and internal reporting obligations.
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us;
- As necessary or appropriate to protect or defend the rights, property or safety of us, our employees, our users, or others;
- To comply with civil, criminal, judicial or regulatory inquiries, investigations, subpoenas or summons, including to respond to law enforcement requests and as required by applicable law, court order, or governmental regulations;
- As described to you when collecting your personal information or as otherwise set forth in the CCPA or subsequently agreed by you;
- To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by us is among the assets transferred.
C. Share, and Disclosure of Personal Information.
We sell very limited personal information, and only in the context of driver lists and driver recruiting. Outside of that context, we may share with third parties certain personal information we have collected from you. We also use third party advertising companies to place ads on other sites. We do this by allowing our advertising and social media partners to place their cookies on a browser of an individual who visits our sites and accepts the use of cookies. The data received by our third party advertising and social media partners allows them to measure the effectiveness of such advertising and to provide advertisements on other websites about our services which are tailored to your interests.
We also use Google Analytics to ensure website functionality and improve our website and services. This software may record information such as your IP address, location, age and gender, browser type and language, operating system, access time, duration of visit, pages you view within our website, search terms you enter and other actions you take while visiting us, the pages you view immediately before and after you access the services, how often you use our Services, aggregated usage and performance data, app errors and debugging information. Google Analytics is owned and controlled by Google LLC. Data collected by Google is subject to its privacy policy. In addition, the chart below shows the categories of personal information we have disclosed to our service providers and contractors for during the last 12 months for the following business purposes.
- Auditing and Ad Impression: We may use personal information for auditing purposes related to counting ad impressions to unique visitors, verifying positioning and quality of ad impressions, and auditing compliance with this specification and other standards.
- Security and Fraud Detection: We may use personal information for our security and fraud detection services including detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; and prosecuting those responsible for that activity.
- Functionality & Debugging: We may use personal information to engage in debugging to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
- Short-Term / Transient Use: We may use personal information for short-term, transient use, including, but not limited to, non-personalized advertising shown as part of a consumer’s current interaction with the business, provided that the consumer’s personal information is not disclosed to another third party and is not used to build a profile about the consumer or otherwise alter the consumer’s experience outside the current interaction with the business.
- Services on Our Behalf: We may disclose personal information in order to receive services performed on behalf of the Company, including maintaining or servicing accounts, providing customer service, processing or fulfilling orders and transactions, verifying customer information, processing payments, providing financing, providing analytic services, providing storage, or providing similar services on behalf of The Company.
- Advertising and Marketing Services: We may use personal information to provide advertising or marketing services on our own behalf.
- Research & Development: We may use personal information for our internal research related to technological development and demonstration.
- Quality Control &Improvement of Products and Services: We may use personal information to verify, maintain, and improve our products and services.
- As Necessary: We may disclose personal information, as necessary: (a) to comply with any legal process; (b) to respond to requests from public and government authorities; (c) to enforce our terms and conditions; (d) to protect our operations and protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of you or others; and (e) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain. We may also use personal information in connection with or during negotiation of any reorganization, acquisition, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets, or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings).

We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age. We only use sensitive personal information for purposes disclosed herein. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those specified in CPRA regulations section 7027(l).
E. Our Retention Policy - How Long We Keep Your Personal Information.
We will retain each category of your personal information identified above for an amount of time that is reasonably necessary for us to use the information for the purposes disclosed herein and for any other permitted purposes, including retention of personal information pursuant to any applicable contract, law or regulation.
F. Certain Rights You Have Under the CCPA and How You Can Exercise Them.
a. Your Rights Under the CCPA.
California consumers have certain rights under the CCPA, which are described below. Please note that these rights are subject to certain exceptions and certain of these rights are subject to verification mechanisms.
- Right to Know Personal Information Collected About You. You have the right to know: (1) the categories of personal information we have collected about you; (2) the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected; (3) the business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing personal information; (4) the categories of third parties to whom we disclose personal information; and (5) the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. You also have the right to know the list of all third parties to whom we have disclosed personal information, as defined under California Civil Code Section 1798.83(e) (a/k/a the “Shine the Light Law”), during the preceding year for third party direct marketing purposes.
- Right to Know Personal Information Sold or Shared and to Whom. Since we sell, share, and/or disclose your personal information, as described above, you have the right to request that we disclose to you: (1) the categories of personal information that we collected about you; (2) the categories of personal information that we sold or shared about you and the categories of third parties to whom the personal information was sold or shared, by category or categories of personal information for each category of third parties to whom the personal information was sold or shared; and (3) the categories of personal information that we disclosed about you for a business purpose and the categories of persons to whom it was disclosed for a business purpose.
- Right to Request Deletion of Your Personal Information. You have the right to request that we delete your personal information. Following receipt of a request, we will let you know what, if any, personal information we can delete from our records. If we cannot delete all of your personal information, we will let you know the reason.
- Right to Correct Inaccurate Information. If you believe that any of the personal information we maintain about you is inaccurate, you have the right to submit a request for us to correct that information. Upon receipt of a request, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the information as you direct.
- Right to Opt-Out of the Sale and Sharing of Your Personal Information. You may opt-out of the sharing of your personal information.
- Right to Limit the Use of Your Sensitive Personal Information. You may request that we limit the use or disclosure of your sensitive personal information.
- Right to Non-Discrimination for the Exercise of Your Rights. If you choose to exercise any of your rights, you have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment by us. For employees, this includes the right not to be retaliated against for the exercise of your CCPA rights.
b. How to Exercise Your Rights And Related Issues.
You may submit requests regarding your rights to know, delete and correct, described above, by emailing your request to privacypolicy@schneider.com or contacting us by phone at 1-800-845-7786.
To help protect your privacy and maintain security, we will take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your personal information or complying with the requests to know, requests to delete and/ or the requests to correct. To verify your identity, we may require you to provide certain information we are likely to already have on-file about you based on the type of relationship you have with us. Our verification procedure may differ depending on whether you have an account with us or not and the request you are making.
The following generally describes the verification processes we use:
- Password Protected Accounts. If you have a password-protected account with us, we may use existing authentication practices to verify your identity but will require re-authentication before disclosing, correcting or deleting data. If we suspect fraudulent or malicious activity relating to your account, we will require further verification (as described below) before complying with a request to know or delete.
- Verification for Non-Accountholders. If you do not have, or cannot access, a password-protected account with us, we will generally verify your identity as follows:
- For requests to know categories of personal information, we will verify your identity to a reasonable degree of certainty by matching at least two data points provided by you with reliable data points maintained by us.
- For requests to know specific pieces of personal information, we will verify your identity to a reasonably high degree of certainty by matching at least three data points provided by you with reliable data points maintained by us. We will also require a declaration, signed under penalty of perjury, that the person requesting the information is the person whose information is the subject of the request or that person's authorized representative. We will maintain all signed declarations as part of our records.
- For requests to correct or delete personal information, we will verify your identity to a reasonable degree or a reasonably high degree of certainty depending on the sensitivity of the personal information and the risk of harm posed by unauthorized deletion. We will act in good faith when determining the appropriate standard to apply.
If there is no reasonable method by which we can verify your identity, we will state so in response to a request to know or delete personal information, including an explanation of why we have no reasonable method to verify your identity. If you use an authorized agent to submit a request to know, delete or correct, we may require the authorized agent to provide proof that you gave the agent signed permission to submit the request. We may also require you to do either of the following: (a) verify your own identity directly with us; or (b) directly confirm with us that you provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request. This requirement does not apply if you have provided the authorized agent with power of attorney pursuant to Probate Code sections 4121 to 4130.
We will respond to requests to know, requests to delete and/ or delete no later than 45 calendar days. If we cannot verify your request within 45 days, we may deny your request. If necessary, we may take up to an additional 45 days to respond to your request but in such an event will provide you a notice and an explanation of the reason that we will take more than 45 days to respond to your request.
