What you'll need:

  • Proof of insurance 
  • Minimum $100,000 cargo insurance, minimum $1,000,000 auto liability, and trailer interchange $25,000 
  • Insurer with B+ or better A.M Best Rating 
  • TWIC® certification for access to maritime ports 
  • Details about your modes, commodities, tractor/equipment counts, and certification 
  • Operating authority with the below requirements 
    • Valid interstate authority (intrastate-only carrier must also have an active U.S. DOT #) 
    • Satisfactory or NOT rated by the DOT 
    • If not rated by the DOT, you will be subject to additional qualification procedures Completed electronic Master Transportation Contract 
  • Completed W-9 form for tax purposes
