Nuevo Leon attracts US$8 billion in tech investments from Asia

In the first half of 2023 alone, Mexico received $29 billion in foreign direct investments. During a recent tour of Asia, the Governor of Nuevo Leon, Samuel Garcia, confirmed seven new investments for the state with a total investment of $8 billion.

The investments secured by García during his tour of Asia include: Kawasaki, $200 million; JL Mag, $500 million; LGMG, $5 billion; Ningbo Tuopu Group, $700 million; Hesai Technology, $260 million; Xiamen Intretech, $210 million; and OPPLE, $140 million.

The state of Nuevo Leon receives the most investments

In 2022, FDI in Nuevo Leon amounted to 4.43 billion dollars.

From October 2021 to August 2023, 164 projects have been confirmed in Nuevo Leon, with 77 being expansions and 87 being new investments. Garcia recently said at an event that 48% of all nearshoring projects in Latin America will be in Nuevo Leon.

"We are one of the few states in Mexico that can guarantee safe investments, and that is why the United States chose Nuevo Leon for the arrival of Tesla and that is why not three, but four or five companies per week are arriving," expressed the governor.
